Opening last September, The Championnet complex is an exclusive area of the Ancient Pompeii, because of its closness to the main square (The Forum), which was the art of the civil, religious and economic life of the city, and because of the presence of several huge domus with a panoramic view, overlooking the Gulf.
Actually, the House with panoramic terraces overlooking the sea are different from the typical domus elsewhere in the city.
Tourists may visit again the House of the Sailor, in a scenic position of the Ancient city, close to the Forum. The name of the Domus comes from the mosaics representing 6 docked ships. This building is unique in the Pompeian domestic overview because it combains the characteristics of an elegant and typical urban house and the commercial use of storage rooms.
